Mickey Reece Retrospective: Night 3 - Fall Films Reunion

  • 701 W Sheridan Ave Oklahoma City, OK 73102 (map)

In 2008, Mickey Reece directs his first feature film, Le Corndog Du Désespoir, which premieres at Opolis in Norman, Oklahoma—where the next eight features would also play. Time Machine (2010) marks the final screening in Norman, as the decision was made to move to a larger venue in the city, with hope that the growing community around these events would follow.

Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center went on to host the next fourteen movies produced by Fall Films. The name came to describe a collective—there was no hierarchy, not even any rules. If you were in one of the movies, you were Fall Films. This night celebrates those who were part of something in Oklahoma City that didn’t exist before it—and hasn’t existed since.

On Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 7PM, join Mickey Reece and surprise guests from the original Fall Films collective for a Q&A moderated by TIFF Midnight Madness programmer Peter Kuplowsky, following the second ever Oklahoma City screening of Punch Cowboy (2010). The retrospective concludes with Reece’s all-time favorite feature he has directed, Walrus (2011). All screenings are first-come, first-serve pay-what-you-can admission.

With your written permission, you may also be featured in a film project that blurs the line between fiction and reality, shooting simultaneously during the three-night retrospective.

Genre: Action, Comedy (Punch Cowboy); Science Fiction (Walrus)
Runtime: 70m (Punch Cowboy); 76m (Walrus)
Rating: PG-13 (Punch Cowboy); R (Walrus)
