Kirsten Therkelson

Kirsten Therkelson (any pronouns) is a comedian and educator from Oklahoma City who has been writing film criticism and analysis since 2016. Along with co-founding and co-hosting the tongue-in-cheek Twilight franchise appreciation podcast TwiLit, Kirsten has appeared as a guest on the Cinematic Schematic, GoodTrash GenreCast, and Bad Girls Die First podcasts.

As a comedian and creative, Kirsten was a founding member of the now-defunct local alt-comedy troupe, SAAD Boys, and most recently has appeared as a guest on several installments of the live movie interruption comedy show, Down in Front with Dalton Stuart.

Since 2024, Kirsten has served as collaborator and co-host with Paris Burris on a monthly feminist film series, Femme Film. Kirsten’s alter-ego, a high camp, vintage-inspired ghost host known only as the Frightful Femme, can be seen hosting Silent Sundays, a live-scored silent film feature taking place on the final Sunday of each month at Rodeo Cinema Stockyards.
