For our next stop, we visit the no longer existing country of Czechoslovakia, but this movie from 1972 doesn’t know that. OFX partner Breigha Czajkowski hosts Morgiana, another dark, surreal fairytale from Czech director Juraj Herz (for those that came out to our screening of Beauty and the Beast). Czech actress Iva Janžurová plays the role of two sisters, one of whom inherits the estate of their dead father, and the other whose jealously drives her to madness—culminating in a plot to kill her sister. Viktorie unravels, putting her plans in jeopardy. If you support evil women, this film from Severin’s “House of Psychotic Women” collection is the one for you.
