Moonlight (2016) with Laron Chapman

  • 701 W Sheridan Ave Oklahoma City, OK 73102 (map)

On its 10th anniversary, OFX invites you to Moonlight, Barry Jenkins’ breakthrough film that many of us recognize as one of the most groundbreaking films of recent memory and a watershed moment of Black cinema. The film is delicate but unflinching view of Black masculinity and queerness, explored through three distinct periods of the protagonist Chiron’s life, and his relationships to the myriad of complex people in his life. We’re joined by OKC filmmaker and deadCenter’s Head of Pride Programming Laron Chapman to discuss this phenomenal film and its impact on Black filmmaking and cinema as a whole.
